This is a version of my winning burger recipe. Red Robin owns the rights to my original version so I do not want to post the original here on my website… but even if I did, I couldn’t! I actually submitted the recipe online at the Red Robin Restaurant website as I was preparing it in the kitchen and I forgot to print out the recipe before I pushed the “send” button. This recipe is what I can remember. Hummus is one of the key ingredients in my burger to lend to the Mediterranean Taste. This recipe calls for traditional hummus, but for variety you could try different flavored hummus like “roasted garlic” and “sun dried tomato”. I won from all of the submissions entered at the Grandville, Michigan Red Robin Restaurant. Now I am in the running for a chance to be a finalist. Ten out of 390 local restaurant winners will be chosen to advance in the contest. I am so thrilled to have won! Creating new recipes is my passion and Red Robin Restaurant is my favorite burger chain. I just love the concept of taking an ordinary American cuisine and making it “extraordinary” in the form of gourmet burgers! I consider it quite an honor to have been chosen. Ingredients 1 Grilled Hamburg Patty 1 Sesame Seed Bun 2 T Greek Style Hummus 2 T Balsamic Vinaigrette Dressing 1 slice Red Onion (separate rings) 1 slice tomato 2 T sliced Black Olive 4-5 leaves Fresh Spinach 2 T Marinated Artichoke Hearts (for another unique flavor, use Capers instead) 2 T Crumbled Feta Cheese Directions Spread hummus on bottom half of bun. Top with olives, onion rings and feta cheese. Place warm hamburg patty on top of feta. Layer with artichoke hearts, then spinach, and finally tomato. Drizzle tomato with Balsamic Vinaigrette Dressing and top with bun. For an explosion of flavor in your mouth, add 1 packet of onion soup mix to each pound of ground beef before cooking. |
